Catching the Stutter (Stuttering Modification Strategy)

“Catching the Stutter” is an activity
that requires students to identify real
moments of stuttering as they occur.
It increases children’s awareness of
their speech, and ultimately gives
them the opportunity to modify their
stuttering.

This is the first of fifteen stuttering
modification and fluency-enhancing
strategies that are comprehensively
addressed by Speak Freely:
Essential Speech Skills for
School-Age Children Who Stutter.

Speak Freely provides practical and effective clinical tools for working with students who stutter, aged 7-18. It offers comprehensive therapeutic procedures that help children manage stuttering and increase speech fluency.
